Pattakit (Boss) Scharoensedtakul

Pattakit (Boss) Scharoensedtakul is a 16-year-old student from Bangkok, Thailand, who seamlessly blends his love for robotics and his passion for computer science. But that’s not all - Boss is also an accomplished musician, skilled in playing both the piano and saxophone.

One pivotal moment that profoundly influenced Boss’s perspective occurred when he sought validation from his friends. While at school, he casually mentioned to a friend his idea of taking the BMAT (BioMedical Admissions Test) for amusement, despite his genuine interest in pursuing computer science in university. Unexpectedly, his friend met his eyes with a piercing gaze and posed a thought-provoking question, “Why are you diverting your attention towards something that doesn’t align with your true passions?”. This simple yet profound remark struck a deep chord within Boss, causing him to embark on a journey of introspection. That night, as he lay pondering his friend’s words, a wave of realization washed over him. He realized that he had been compromising his true desires, allowing societal expectations and external pressure to divert him from his genuine path. With this determination, Boss made the resolute decision to follow his long-standing passion for computer science and robotics. From that moment forward, he committed himself wholeheartedly to pursuing his dreams regardless of any doubts or obstacles that may arise.

Boss is a dynamic leader, spearheading both robotics competitions and philanthropic initiatives. His team is preparing for the Thailand WRO National Rounds, gaining invaluable technical and soft skills. Aspiring to be Thailand’s representative team, Boss mentors a VEX IQ team of juniors at his school. He also manages a robotics club, nurturing students’ passion for robotics through competitions. Moreover,  he is dedicated to organizing a STEM camp in rural areas of Thailand, igniting a love for robotics and computer science among underprivileged students. 

In the future, Boss envisions embarking on a transformative computer science journey by pursuing his studies at a prestigious US university where he would specialize in AI. After completing his studies, he aims to work as an AI Engineer to gain practical experience. With this experience, Boss envisions starting his own company to address a real-world problem in the education sector, ultimately benefiting his home country of Thailand. By effectively harnessing his expertise and knowledge, Boss is determined to catalyze impact transformation and have a net positive change in the world.
