Future of Business

Jessica Lu is a junior at The Webb Schools in California with a global background that has shaped her perspective on leadership, equity, and opportunity. Born and raised in Shanghai, she moved to the United States in 9th grade, she has grown up navigating diverse cultures and educational systems. These experiences fostered her adaptability, cultural awareness, and ability to listen across differences.

Fluent in English and Mandarin, Jessica is deeply interested in how systems shape access to opportunity, particularly in education, finance, and leadership. She was the Vice President of the Webb Student Council, where she worked to strengthen student representation and improve equity within the school community. Her leadership emphasizes collaboration, democratic decision-making, and thoughtful problem-solving.

Jessica is also a 3-year varsity cross country athlete, where she leads through consistency, resilience, and support for teammates. Beyond athletics, she pursues a wide range of creative and personal interests, including music, writing, cooking, and visual art.

Driven by a desire to build more inclusive systems, Jessica hopes to pursue entrepreneurship and finance as tools for social impact. She is especially interested in creating accessible platforms that empower young people to make informed decisions and expand opportunity regardless of background.
