Jonathan Peng is a Grade 10 student at Belmont High School, and he has a preference for physics and chemistry. He has traveled across three continents, and visited countries such as Italy, China, Canada and Mexico. His academic passions currently lie in the areas of engineering, computer science as well as robotics, and he considers himself a “builder of tomorrow”.
Currently, he has taken an interest in a combination of three SDGs: 7) Affordable and Clean Energy, 9) Industry, Innovation and Infrastructure and 11) Sustainable Cities and Communities.
He believes that in order to develop a blueprint of smart and sustainable cities, one must take into consideration clean energy, innovative infrastructure development as well as human-centric design. As such, he participates in First Robotics Club competitions. In terms of music, he has extensive experience playing both the saxophone (six years) and piano (ten years). In his spare time, Jonathan enjoys playing games such as Minecraft with his friends, watching basketball and football on television, as well as tearing up the field in ultimate frisbee.
In the future, Jonathan aims to pursue higher education as well as a career where he utilizes his knowledge and experience across various engineering disciplines to design, orchestrate and upgrade solutions towards sustainable development.
